'Casa particular' really means private house. The Cuban government allows Cubans (by a license) to rent out rooms in their houses or apartments to tourists, like a Bed and Breakfast operation.
As any other type of accommodation such as hotels are owned by the government, the term 'casa particular' states that this kind of paid lodging is privately operated by the Cuban family living in the house.
Renting a room in a private lodging ('casa particular') is the most affordable option when traveling in Cuba. Our Bed and Breakfast is on a very convenient location, -just 5 minutes walk to main square Parque Vidal.
